AUDIO | “Triple Truth Ruth, Vol. 1” @RolledGoldBeats

I love when an artist or producer get’s creative. Many times you hear a producer sample a song and then you hear it sampled in the same fashion by someone else. And then by someone else after that too. Philadelphia producer Rolled Gold Beats took the liberty to sample the same song three times and make it into a short EP titled Triple Truth Ruth.

The title of the EP comes from Samuel L. Jackson’s character in Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing movie. Oddly enough, that movie speaks volumes to our times today as it did 25 years ago. Rolled Gold flips the same track three different times and makes each beat unique. The first one feels smooth and like it could be used for an uplifting track. The second one feels like something an East Coast artist could use to tell us a gritty tale of street life while the third one feels like it could be used for a Southern artist with how the vocal sample is chopped. Check it out for yourself and see which one you like the most.
