Religion and faith are things that people put their trust in throughout life. Even if you’re not a religious person, you have faith in someone or something on a day to day basis. Whether you believe or not is up to you but the universe works in mysterious ways. “Until I’m Gone” is the third single released from Derek Minor in anticipation of his Reflection album that is being released on October 14th. Derek isn’t alone on this one as he gets an assist from one of the best R&B singers out today, BJ The Chicago Kid.
This one is for the people who aren’t sure about having a God. Derek remembers his roots and shows it in the video as we see old video of him performing raps in the church as a child. “Until I’m Gone” also showcases the success Derek has had in life; it’s an ode to God in a sense as he’s grateful for all of the things he’s accomplished and been given thanks to his music career. BJ sings about telling everyone “about your love until I’m gone now” on the hook, making sure our creator knows that Derek is grateful for his opportunity.
